New Look!

Well friends what do you all think of my new blog look? I thought it was time for a change and I enlisted Susie of Bluebird Blogs for help. I think she did a wonderful job and I hope you think so too. I have been working on my seasonal exchange so can't show much. Not much else going on due to work. Brandon is doing well and we hope to get the cast off next week. Thanks so much for asking. Anyway, I must run. I hope to have some stitching to show shortly.

Come on over....

the water's just fine at the beach house-LOL. Here is my beach house by Lilybet designs. I love it-the colors remind me of the houses along Panama City Beach, Fl. It was a very enjoyable stitch. Of course, those lazy daisy stitches are not the best, but I can live with them. I am going to have it framed and it is going in my beach themed bathroom. Other than that not much going on here, stitching of course and stash buying (does it ever end?) I finally got my petite treasure braid for Dawn fairy, so will be working on that. I have almost completed another freebie heart-in a pretty color called blue lagoon. I have to get caught up with my Christmas ornaments. So, lots to stitch and so little time! Hope everyone has a great weekend and happy stitching!

A small heart finish...

This is a French inspired heart freebie from the Gift of Stitching magazine. A quick fun little finish. Done on 32 ct. cream linen in Louisiana Hot Sauce by Weeks. I haven't quite decided how I am going to finish this. I will also share my Lilybet beach house finish later in the week. Just have to add buttons to it. Hope you all have a great week coming up. Thanks for the compliments on the needle holder.

My new needle holder...

This needle holder was a special little delivery for me. I had long be admiring Debby's husband's woodworking on her blog Stitch Wizard . He had made a gorgeous ring holder for her and a needle holder too. So, when he considered selling the needle holders, I knew I wanted one. Isn't it lovely? It is very smooth and he even sent a little card with it to tell me what type of wood he used. This particular wood is called Tamboti and is considered rare. It is usually used for small fancy articles or high grade furniture. Thanks Jerry and Debby-I love it.

In Brandon news-NO SURGERY! Yay! We saw the MD this morning, unbelievably we were the eighth person to sign in at 7:15 am. Brandon was very fortunate in the fact that this particular bone when it fractures breaks in two. But, his just split up the middle. If it had broken completely, we would have been looking at a big surgery with plates and screws. So, a cast for three weeks and then he has to take it easy for a little longer. All, I can say is thank God! Thanks to all of you too for your concern and well wishes.

Dawn Fairy Update!

Here is the latest progress on Dawn. Not too much to show as it seems every Monday when I stitch her, I seem to be missing some thread. Apparently, I can't collect threads for projects-LOL. I have stuck with my rotation, but alas I am missing the petite treasure braid (it's on order) and think without that I can't get too far. Hopefully, I will have it this week.

In family news my oldest son Brandon broke his arm. He was horse playing around my living room and slipped and fell very hard on my hardwood floor. The hardwood floor won! He broke his right humerus(above the elbow area) in two places. We see the orthopedic MD on Thursday at 7:15 in the morning! Can you believe that? I am not sure I can make it-LOL. They are just very busy! Anyway, he is doing okay, he has his arm in a hard splint. I hope that he won't have to have surgery. I hope you all have a great week and happy stitching!

PS:

I want to also thank everyone for their comments on the scissor fob exchange. I really appreciate it. Monique asked what count fabric was used. I used 32 count and the stitch count was 31 x 31, which is why that pattern was great for a scissor fob. Not my own original idea however, I got it from another stitcher here locally.

Scissor Fob Exchange Part 2

This is the scissor fob exchange I sent to Amy of Amy Stitches This exchange was done through the FGBB. The design is from Whimsey & Wit. It's their expression series #1 and it comes with the charms like the one you see on the front of the fob. I stitched it in a Vikki Clayton silk called baneberry. I also sent her the cherry tree inn chart, a couple packs of piecemakers, and a couple skeins of needle necessities thread. I stitched Amy's initial on the back. This was also my first time trying cording. It was really easy! Thanks to the Focus on Finishing blog. Amy has a much better picture of the fob on her blog, If you would like to see it better. I am glad that you liked it Amy!

Received Scissor Fob Exchange!

This is the front-I could not get a good picture on the table, so I hung it on one of my figurines. The initial of my last name is on the back.

The entire exchange!

This is the gorgeous scissor fob exchange I received from Cathy today! She stitched an exquisite hardanger fob. Cathy does some stunning hardanger and if you have never seen her work you should stop by her blog
With Needle and Thread and check it out! She also sent me some lovely goodies to go along with the fob. Two pieces of fabric, some finishing forms, a patriotic chart and a skein of thread. Sharon was doing some happy dancing here today-LOL! Thanks again Cathy!
